Fascinating story! Thank you Bertie for sharing. I'm sure it must have been extremely stressful and frustrating for them to have to go up against the pharmaceutical industry to prove their hypothesis. Yet that stress didn't give them ulcers

I agree with making themselves the Guinea pig option but why is it that this alternate theory coincided with the growing popularity of the proton pump inhibitors. These became standard therapy along with high dozes of antibiotics into something that was if I remember called the triple pack. I am just so curious about the factors that guide therapies becoming standard protocol in healthcare.

Great story! I keep bumping up against common belief all the time in my own health journey, as you know well. Time again, I'm forced to wonder, "Can everyone be wrong about this?" Too often, especially when it comes to women's health, they are. Thank you!
