The ending here, where you discuss cognitive reserve, is beautiful. It moves beyond health to the practice of a life well lived. Bravo, my friend!

Great article! But don’t forget that for women, loss of estrogen at menopause, according to several researchers, may be a decisive trigger. 2/3 of all Alzheimer’s patients are women. A quick dab of Divigel every day starting in peri-menopause could be preventative. Really interesting. I just finished listening to Arthur Brooks talk about his new book “From Strength to Strength” which is all about how to age gracefully. Well worth it for anyone who wants to know more about lifelong fitness: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/ten-percent-happier-with-dan-harris/id1087147821?i=1000551251686
