The beauty of the human mind we are complex individuals sometimes we are predictable and then something happens and we change our minds. I’ve been trying to lose 10lbs but then I’m surrounded by family and food and making memories and food and great times are connected for me and I always end up choosing sentimentality.
>>>Unfortunately, the results are mixed at best, undermined by the wonderful and maddening unpredictability of human beings.<<< This is, ultimately, the central obsession (and the genius) of all Tom Stoppard’s plays, notably ARCADIA and THE HARD QUESTION, and, most tragically, of his latest and perhaps final work, LEOPOLDSTADT. But Stoppard also addresses a fundamental, violent conundrum in a post-Holocaust world: Is the thirst for murder a symptom of mankind’s unpredictability — or innate in our nature? Is the answer unknowable? Or is it just the chocolate sauce we slather on the profiterole to muddle the boundary between protective carapace and defenseless viscera?
